Calgary Wild announce the return of goalie Kyle Wood

Calgary, AB — The Calgary Flames announced Thursday they have recalled goaltender Kyle Wood from the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The decision comes after the 26-year-old Wood signed a one-year contract with the Flames on Tuesday.

Wood, who is the No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, has been on a goal-less streak since Nov. 30.

He has two goals and five points in six games with the Griffins this season.

The Griffins also announced they have re-signed forward Mike McKenna, who was traded from the San Jose Sharks on Feb. 24.

McKenna has five goals and 10 points in 13 games with San Jose.
