A K-mart employee left a $30 000 credit card at a counter at a Walmart in Victoria, B.C., where he was supposed to pay for his meal, police say.
An employee called police to report a man had left his credit card in the counter, which is located in the same store as the grocery store.
The employee was then called by his supervisor and told to get his card, which was found at the counter.
He was not charged.
Police said the credit card was not in his wallet at the time of the theft.
“We were not able to find out why the credit cards were left at the store,” Sgt. Michael Day told reporters Monday.
“There was no indication of who or where the money was coming from.”
The Kmart employee was not arrested and did not face any charges.
The incident is still under investigation.
